Gates Group Campground has three sites you can choose from; two of them can accommodate 25 campers, and the third site can accommodate up to 75 people and 25 vehicles. The nightly fee for the campground is $82 for the smaller sites and $165 for the large site. The campground’s facilities are well-maintained, so you and your group can rest assured you’ll have access to all you need. Picnic tables, campfire rings, grills, and drinking water are some of the amenities at the campground. Also, the campground is well-shaded by the surrounding coniferous forest.
There are lots of activities for you to explore in the area around the campground. The North Fork American River flows nearby, and it is a great spot for swimming or fishing. Also, the French Meadows Reservoir is located near the campground and offers similar opportunities. If hiking is more your thing, head to the Granite Chief Wilderness to find some spectacular trails.
