Green Acres campground is an iconic vacation retreat located in a pretty country town where kids love to spend the summer.
The resort has grassy, shaded spaces for tents and total hookups for RVs, with electricity (30/50 amp), water, sewer, and wi-fi. Sites are grass/sand with narrow, internal roads presenting a challenge for the bigger rigs. You might need leveling blocks on some sites, which also feature a picnic table and fire-ring. The average daily rate for camping with a motorhome is $31 and $33 for 50 amp electricity.
Established in 1966, Green Acres has a wealth of know-how when it comes to making kids happy on their holidays. There are two swimming pools, a basketball, tennis, and volleyball court, plus fishing and paddle boating on the 7-acre lake  You can attend church on Sundays and look forward to dances, bingo, water carnivals, and country music fun. The creative hosts are always hard at work with events planned from the beginning of the year until the end.
You can live the summer in a rustic cabin and make use of the restrooms, showers, and laundry room. The nearest highway is around a mile away, so you can expect a quiet ambiance with a lake right at your door. This is why many folks make this campground a permanent home
The petite town of Williamston is only 6 miles from the resort, where The Senator Bob Martin Agricultural Center is at the hub of this friendly settlement. Take the kids to Deadwood for a fun cowboy time with cool rides and a restaurant decked out in a Western theme. If you like nothing better than walking the trails, try Moratok Park, where several pathways take you on a tour alongside Roanoke River. Bring your pooch as it’s a dog-friendly park.
Green Acres Campground has seen many summers and the return of families to repeat the good times again. Their peak months are July through to August, although they are open all year. Pets are welcome, and dogs should be on a leash, especially during the holidays. Bring litter bags and keep this resort clean. There are plenty of walking areas for fur-babies to stretch their paws.
Take the kids to Green Acres Resort for a summer they will never forget!
