Description

Nestled away in the scenic Ozark Mountains, Missouri's Hawker Point Campground is conveniently located on the shores of Stockton Lake, which makes it the perfect summertime getaway spot.

With over 300 miles of shoreline available to overnight guests via Stockton Lake, boating tends to be the number one attraction for visitors to Hawker Point. The campground provides a $5 concrete boat launch for would-be mariners, as long as they've got registration tags showing on their vessel of choice. Due to the enormous length of the lake, motorboat races are held here during the summertime. For more information on these events, make sure to give the Stockton Lake website a look to see if there are events happening during your stay.

Hiking is popular in Hawker Point as well, with several options available to those guests who'd like to stretch their legs. The longest of these offered paths is the Stockton Lake Equestrian Trail. This over 15-mile stretch is open to foot traffic as well as riders on horseback and leads guests all the way from Stockton to the nearby Orleans Trail campgrounds. If you're bringing a dog along for your hike, make sure to pick up any waste they might leave along the way, while also keeping them on a leash throughout your stay.

Hawker Point provides a total of 62 campsites for visitors to choose from, most of which come standard with electrical hookups, campfire rings, and picnic tables. If you've come in an RV or pop-up trailer, Hawker Point also contains a dump station free for overnight guests. A few non-electric campsites are also available at $14 to $16 an evening. Drinking water is available at the combination restroom and shower facilities located in the center of the campground. Any visiting canines are to be kept on a leash and out of public facilities.

Campers should note that prices here vary depending on site location and amenities. If you've got any questions, make sure to call ahead before booking your stay. Additionally, any would-be overnight guests should remember that costs listed here pertain to Hawker Point, and may not reflect additional recreational costs not associated with the campground.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
