This campground rests in Angeles National Forest to the northeast of Los Angeles. Jackson Flats campground has five sites: sites 1, 2, and 3 can accommodate up to 40 people each. Sites 4 and 5 can accommodate up to 30 people each. Each site is a short distance from the parking area, and campers must carry their belongings from the parking area to the campsites. The campground, which sits at an elevation of 7,500 feet, is well-shaded by the surrounding trees.
There are many sites for recreational activities in Angeles National Forest, so those looking to spend time exploring the great outdoors won’t be at a loss for things to do. If you like hiking, you'll find plenty of dog-friendly trails nearby, and you can also reach the Pacific Crest Trail from the campground. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife along the way! Jackson Lake is also nearby; this is a good location for fishing or boating.
When you’re planning your stay at Jackson Flats Campground, remember that you will be in an active bear zone. Food should be stored and disposed of safely. Also note that the front gate is locked at 10 pm, so you will not be able to park vehicles at the campground after that time.
