Description

If you're the type of person or family who always has a few dogs in tow no matter where you go, Julian Price Campground is the perfect spot for your next vacation! Ruffly 185 sites can be found here, all of which offer access to modern bathroom facilities and drinking water taps, along with the standard camping accessories like a grill, campfire ring, and picnic table.

Over half of these sites are first-come-first-served, but remember, this is the Blue Ridge Parkway's largest campground, so it's best to make your reservation in advance where pawssible. For up-to-date information on available reservations, be sure to reach out by phone. Dogs have to stay in your tent or vehicle throughout the night, as well as be kept clear of any bathroom facilities.

If you're visiting at the height of summer, the nearby Price Lake offers a few chances to paddle around the water while enjoying the surrounding woodland views. Several different species of trees are a boon for naturalists, while photography enthusiasts will have a blast taking a moment to snap some photos of the seasonal wildflower blooms. Want the learn more about the local flora? Sign up for one of the park's interpretive programs or guided walks!

Speaking of walks, Fido will always need a walk eventually, and the adjacent Julian Price Memorial Park is perfect for it! If you just need a quick 2- or 3-mile stretch to satisfy your canine, you might try Price Lake Trail. It follows the edge of the lake's waters and provides a level, unchallenging jaunt perfect for even less-abled guests. If you've got a history-loving hound at the end of that leash, take the time to sniff around the grounds of nearby historic sites like Moses Cone Estate.

If you've got intentions of visiting Julian Price Campground, be warned that prices listed here pertain specifically to camping amenities. Admission costs for the parkway may still apply, as well as fees for any surrounding parks or other recreational opportunities.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
