June Lake

Explore a natural playground in the Sierra Nevada Mountains at June Lake. The 257-acre lake is the centerpiece of this campground, but the views of peaks over 10,000 feet that surround the lake are nothing to scoff at, either. Bring your pooch and your camper and discover what this spectacular area has to offer!

June Lake Campground has 28 sites for campers to stay in, each containing a bear locker as the area is known for many encounters with the big, hairy beasts. There is drinking water available on-site, along with flush toilets, making your stay here quite comfortable. Though the grounds are not brimming with amenities, visitors here are walking distance away from the town of June Lake. This means that getting dinner only has to be as hard as walking down the road!

People come to June Lake for its close proximity to pawesome activities and amazing sights. The Ansel Adams Wilderness is not far away, nor is Yosemite National Park -- both are excellent places to hike. There are also many mountain biking and OHV areas close by, so you can stay as active as you'd like while visiting the campground. With the lake right there, you'll find lots of aquatic activities to partake in as well, including fishing, canoeing, and boating. 

As with all California parks, you are asked to keep your trusty Fido on-leash whenever in the actual park. Remember, you are in bear country, so even when you are way out in the wilderness, it may be best to have your beloved woofer on a lead, or at least ensure they have excellent voice command obedience. During your stay at the campground, always pick up after your dog's bathroom breaks to make everyone's trip more enjoyable. Pooches are not allowed at any designated swim area unless posted otherwise.
