Description

You'll feel like you're a long way away from the Bay Area when you and your friends camp at Las Trampas Regional Wilderness. This 5,342-acre paradise features forest and grassland. There's a primitive group campsite here that houses 11 to 50 people. Bring your tent or a camper that's no longer than 30 feet. The facility includes pit toilets and a fire ring. Although the site has a water source, it can be inconsistent. It's best to bring enough supplies for your needs when you stay here.

The campground is in a grassy area that's surrounded by trees. Set up camp near the creek, then take advantage of the rugged wilderness trails. One pawtastic walk is on Rocky Ridge Trail. This paved pathway offers some challenge with steep grades. You'll reap the reward of scenic vistas of the hills and city skylines when you climb here. Another option is to follow Bollinger Creek Loop Trail as it follows the water then ascends Las Trampas Ridge. The panoramic view of the Bay from the peak is furrific! Enjoy watching wildlife like golden eagles, hawks, raccoons, and bobcats as you travel. There's a group picnic facility near the staging area parking lot where you can share a meal with your pals.

You can add your four-footed pal to the group when you camp here. There's a $2 per day fee for dogs, and you'll have to keep them on a leash in any developed areas. Collect their waste and carry it out for disposal.

The Corral group camping area at Las Trampas Regional Wilderness offers a place to escape from the city. Enjoy nature with family or friends as you hike the trails in this rugged facility. Get a permit if you plan to enter in EBMUD land in your travels. Check for any fire restrictions or warnings when you make reservations with the East Bay Regional Park District.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
