Description

Resting in northern California’s Inyo National Forest, Lone Pine Campground is a fantastic location for your next camping trip! It is surrounded by the awe-inspiring Sierra Nevada Mountains and is conveniently located near many fantastic sites for outdoor activities. The campground is well-kept, has lots of useful amenities, and best of all, it is dog-friendly. So pack up some supplies and head out to Lone Pine Campground for an un-fur-gettable camping trip with your canine companion!

The campground offers 42 single campsites, a double campsite, and a group campsite. The fee for the standard sites is $22 per night, and the group site costs $60 per night. The group site is tent-only and can accommodate up to fifteen campers. You will find the campground’s facilities to be in great shape. Drinking water, food storage lockers, and firewood are all available at the campground.

You will also have plenty of things to do while you are camping out. There are some great fishing sites nearby, particularly Lone Pine Creek and an unnamed pond near the campground. The area is also well-known for its hiking. You’ll have a variety of trails to choose from: the area around Whitney Portal has some of the more difficult trails, and the National Recreation Trail that connects to the campground is an easier option.

Always remember that you are staying in an active bear area. Store and dispose of food properly and take all other necessary precautions. Also note that campers are required to check in and present their confirmation letter when they arrive at the campground, but first-come-first-served sites are often available. Finally, if you’re planning on hiking at Mt. Whitney, you will have to acquire a permit.

You and your pooch will love Lone Pine Campground, and you’ll see why so many people choose Inyo National Forest for their camping trips in California!
