Description

The Meadow Group Campground is a large, dog-friendly campground located in the Angeles National Forest in La Canada, California. The secluded camp is situated at an altitude of 5,300 feet among beautiful pine and oak trees and overlooking green meadows and rolling hills. It can accommodate up to 100 campers -- despite its popularity, thanks to its sheer size, it rarely feels crowded. If you want to be safe and secure in a perfect spot, make sure to call at least four days in advance to make a reservation.

The Meadow Group Campground is divided into two sections and features everything you would want in a campground. It is well-kept, easily accessible, and has a spacious parking lot.  There is an area that can board approximately 20 people, and it is equipped with a water spigot, several fire rings, and three picnic tables. The second area can hold up to 80 people and features numerous fire pits, ten picnic tables, and one water spigot. Since water is quite limited considering the size of the campground, it is highly advised to pack and bring your own supply. There is a restroom available that is shared among both areas, and it features a flush toilet.

Surrounded by the lush San Gabriel wilderness, the campsite is located near hiking, horseback riding, and biking trails. Make sure to watch out for squirrels on the nature trails and make sure to keep your canine companion leashed at all times. This is a prime location for stargazing and wildlife watching -- just be prepared to wake up to the sound of woodpeckers!

If you visit this great location, please make sure to follow the campground rules. The quiet hours are between 10 PM and 6 AM, so be respectful and let yourself, as well as others, take in the sounds of nature and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Keep your fur-ball leashed at all times and bring enough doggie waste bags for clean-up. Lastly, stay safe and preserve the forested areas around by only having fires in the fire rings.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
