Midway Campground and RV Resort is a top-notch camping destination. This dog-friendly resort is loaded with amenities and "op-paw-tunities" designed with your comfort in mind.
According to Midway, "pets are welcome but their owners must be well-behaved!" In other words, this campground is extremely dog-friendly. The only downside is there are breed restrictions. These include Doberman Pinschers, Chows, Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, and wolf breeds. Service dogs are excluded from the restrictions, as any breed is welcome. Aside from this limitation, the campground has plenty of amenities for your pooch! The fenced-in dog park provides them with room to roam while socializing with other dogs, and it's comfortably shaded for your pup to enjoy.
Campers of all sorts flock to Midway because of the many site types offered. You'll find a variety of RV sites, including pull-through sites with patios, lakefront sites, as well as regular pull-through sites, all of which come with full hookup services. For tent campers, you can choose to camp primitively with no hookups, or enjoy the benefit of 20-amp electrical outlets. Tent sites begin at $31.41 and RV rates start at $42.91 per night. Cabin rentals are also available if you’re looking to upgrade your stay.
If you plan to stay in a cabin, your dog must weigh less than 20 pounds. A $10 daily fee also applies, as well as a maximum of one dog per cabin. When outside of your camping unit, be sure to keep your pup on a leash no longer than six feet at all times. You're also asked to tidy up any mess they make in a timely manner. For your convenience, waste disposal bags for your pup are provided, as well as a disposal area for dog waste. Failure to comply with these rules could result in your pup being asked to leave, so be mindful and practice good "petiquette"!
When it comes to activities, avid anglers will be happy to find a fishing pond on-site. The campground is also equipped with basketball and volleyball courts, a game room, playground, and horseshoes. Bean bag toss and mini golf are other fun games you can enjoy. To top it off, there's also an Olympic-sized swimming pool and a jumping pillow -- perfect for the kids! Also for the kids are plenty of planned activities every weekend. For the parents, NASCAR Hall of Fame and Charlotte Speedway are within a 45-minute drive.
