The campground itself is snuggled into a serene valley with large trees (big oak groves and manzanita.) The sites are open and spacious but are also private and secluded, so you have lots of space to yourself and the ability to remain away from other campers. Since the campground is away from major cities and highways, the nights are very dark, so you have some of the best stargazing opportunities in the area.
Cleveland National Forest also has heaps of birds and other wildlife, making it a favorite spot for wildlife viewing and birding. The Oak Grove Trail, San Jacinto Mountains, San Gorgonio Mountains, Hight Point Lookout, and Agua Tibia Wilderness are nearby as well. Campers who thrive in beautiful nature will hardly run out of fantastic outdoor activities in the region.
The campsites have amenities such as fresh drinking water, grills, pit toilets, campfire rings, a parking area, picnic tables, trash collection, and much more. There are no showers at this location, so if this is important for you, you may be better off at a different site.
Pets are more than welcome to come camping with you, but they should wear a leash at all times. You should also make sure to clean up after your dog and discard the poop bags properly when finished. Always make sure your dog has fresh water and a cool, relaxing spot to lay.
Overall, Oak Grove Campground is a beautiful place to go camping when you want serene surroundings, beautiful nature, and a place that is not overly crowded with people!
