Pineknot

Pineknot Campground is a fun and popular campground in southern California’s San Bernardino National Forest. It has all the advantages of the forest’s natural features and the region’s abundance of outdoor activities, but it also provides useful amenities to ensure that campers are comfortable throughout their stay. While countless campers are drawn to the site every season for its setting and location, one of the campground’s best features is that it welcomes canine companions, so you can bring your dog with you for a furrific camping adventure!

The campground has dozens of sites that can accommodate tents or RVs, but it is best suited for tent camping. It is well-shaded by a variety of conifers, and each site has a table, campfire ring, and grill. Some points of interest near the site are Big Bear Lake (the town) and Snow Summit Ski Resort. While you are camping at Pineknot, you might want to take advantage of the outdoor activities that are close by. Big Bear Lake (the lake) offers an opportunity for swimming, fishing, or paddling (note that the water is considered a bit too cold for swimming, but it’s up to you). There are also numerous hiking trails throughout San Bernardino National Forest, and these trails are a great way to experience the area’s amazing scenery and wildlife.

You will want to keep a few things in mind when you’re planning your trip to Pineknot. The campground’s fee is $29 per night, but the fee is increased to $31 on holidays. There is also a $7 fee for additional vehicles. Dogs must be kept on a leash under 6 feet at all times, and RVs must be no longer than 26 feet.
