Prosser Family

Prosser Family Campground is a fantastic location for your next camping trip in California. It rests in Tahoe National Forest to the northwest of the famous Lake Tahoe. The campground is highly regarded because of its many great features: it offers a convenient location for exploring the region, and it has a beautiful setting that will enchant nature lovers. Most importantly, dogs are allowed on the campground, so you can bring your furry friend along to Prosser for an amazing camping trip!

The campground rests just 10 miles from the town of Truckee, and it is located on the Prosser Reservoir. It is shaded by a variety of tree species, and there are a number of sites throughout the campground (note that some of these sites are tent-only). Drinking water is provided at the campground, as are vault toilets, campfire rings, benches, and picnic tables. 

You’ll probably want to get out and explore some of the wonderful outdoor activities available in the area. One option is the nearby reservoir, which provides a great location for boating, fishing, or swimming. You can also find similar activities at Lake Tahoe, which is about 30 minutes away from the campground. Tahoe National Forest is a fantastic place for a hike, and the campground is situated close to a few trailheads. You’ll find an abundance of plant and animal species throughout the forest, and there are also some fantastic views of the area’s geological features and bodies of water.

There are a few things to consider when you’re mapping out your camping trip. Note that the campground charges a $20 daily fee for each site. Also remember that black bears are native to this area, so take the necessary bear safety precautions.
