Description

There are several campgrounds near J. Strom Thurmond Lake in Georgia. One of the first to be established was Ridge Road Campground, and throughout its existence, it has impressed and delighted campers from near and far. The campground provides an amazing opportunity for lakeside camping in one of the country’s most scenic states. Campers can enjoy the many outdoor activities available in the area, and they can sample the local culture in the nearby cities and small towns. And one of Ridge Road’s best attributes is that it welcomes dogs, so you can bring your canine companion along to keep you company while you camp!

The campground houses 63 well-maintained campsites, and campers have their choice of primitive tent sites or sites with 50-amp electrical hookups. Nonelectric sites cost $18 per night, and the cost of electric sites ranges from $24 to $52. Most of the campsites are set beside the lake, and the surrounding forest of mixed pine and hardwood provides ample shade during the hot summer months.

While you’re camping at Ridge Road Campground, you’ll have access to its great amenities. They include showers, drinking water, laundry facilities, a dump station, a dock, and a boat ramp. You’ll also have access to the area’s great outdoor recreation sites. The neighboring lake is an obvious choice for fishing, swimming, and boating. There are also plenty of trails available for hiking and wildlife viewing; some popular trails close to the campground are Lake Spring Loop and Bartram Trail.

Please remember to adhere to the campground’s rules during your stay. Remember that dogs must be kept on-leash at all times. Also note that alcohol is prohibited at Ridge Road Campground, as are scooters and ATVs. Golf carts are permitted, but you should check with the campground gatehouse for guidelines concerning their use.

You and your dog will have a blast at Ridge Road Campground, and you’ll return home with memories to treasure for a lifetime!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
