Description

Bring your pooch to crystal blue waters with a mountain peak as the backdrop at Rock Creek Lake! You'll be up almost 10,000 feet above sea level, meaning there are endless scenic views everywhere you look. This campground is the final destination down a road full of other facilities offering different natural features and draws.

Not to be confused with the Rock Creek campground near Yosemite National Park, Rock Creek Lake is made up of 26 sites of varying sizes, some of which are able to accommodate RVs up to 25 feet, while others are just big enough for tents. There are no hookups here, so use the opportunity to get closer to the nature that surrounds you. What you will find are campfire rings, picnic tables, and bear boxes to store all of your food and toiletries safely. Firewood is available for purchase in the campground, so there is no need to break rules and bring some from out of the area. All sites go for a nightly fee of $25, and permits are needed if you want to head out into the Inyo Wilderness.

Don't feel the need that you have to go way out into the wild to enjoy yourself, though. Rock Creek Lake is filled with things to fill your stay with. The water is beautiful and great for swimming, boating, and fishing, although only electric boats are permitted. The abundant wilderness makes for great exploring, and your pup will love hitting the many rugged trails with you. And don't worry about lugging a bunch of food with you -- the nearby Rock Creek Lodge serves breakfast, and Mcgee Creek Lodge handles all the rest of the meals (and snacks, of course).

Throughout your stay in this amazing area, please keep your pupper leashed at all times. It is also vital that you never leave them unattended, as bears do come through the facility often. As always, clean up after your fur-baby and make sure to pack all the needed items to do so. The grounds ask that no more than two dogs stay at each campsite.

Add Rock Creek Lake to your camping dream list to spend days near a beautiful lake in the mountains with your furry friend next season!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
