Round Lake

If you’re looking for a dog-friendly campground in Michigan where you and your woofer can kick back, relax, and enjoy a lakeside view, you’ve found it! Round Lake Campground is one of the best campgrounds in Huron-Manistee National Forest — it has a beautiful setting, well-kept amenities, and easy access to some of the top outdoor recreation sites in eastern Michigan. You and your pooch are sure to love it!

There are 29 campsites at Round Lake Campground. Each site can fit up to 8 campers, and the nightly fee is $15. The fee for day use of the campground is $5. The campsites are spread out across two loops and come equipped with campfire rings and picnic tables. You can access some other useful amenities and services at the campground, including a self-pay station, a boat ramp, trash collection, and drinking water.

You can find lots of fun activities around the campground. Its namesake lake is an obvious choice for aquatic activities like fishing and boating — it has a variety of fish, including bass, pike, and sunfish. You can also find some great trails near the campground. Silver Valley Loop Trail is one of the more popular choices in the area. It runs just under six miles and welcomes dogs on-leash. The trail is surrounded by a forest of oak and pine trees, and it connects to one of the area’s larger trail systems, providing you and your pooch with lots of ground to cover if you love hiking!

Please note that your furry friend must remain on-leash at Round Lake Campground. There are no posted rules regarding pups in swimming areas, but we advise keeping them clear of the beach and paying attention to posted signage. Also, remember to clean up after your dog throughout your stay. The campground welcomes RVs, but there is little vehicle clearance. No RV hookups are available on the premises.
