Description

Whether you're just passing through Maine or on your way to the crown jewel of the North Atlantic Coast, the Acadia National Park, Timberland Acres RV Park will provide an excellent home base during your travels. The family-owned and operated park is conveniently located within 15 miles of the enchanting town of Bar Harbor, where patrons can find the rocky Mount Desert Island. The pet-friendly campground offers free shuttles to the Acadia National Park, making it the prime location for those wanting to experience this vast wilderness.Ā

This tent and RV campground consists of 200 sites that are scattered across 35 acres of forested terrain. Sites are spacious and long, including 50 that are 100 feet! This means that you will have plenty of space for your big rig, your lawn chairs and still have lots of grassy area for your pooches to play in. There are 103 full-service sites and 94 pull-throughs, with 30 and 50 amp connections, water, and sewer hookups. Each campsite is also equipped with a campfire ring and a picnic table. Although there are lots of wooded sites with ample shade and privacy, most of them are occupied by seasonal campers. The open sites are sunny and have great satellite reception. All of the interior roads are paved and level.Ā

The campground features a recreational hall, picnic pavilions, a swimming pool, a playground, an arcade, horseshoes, and more. If that's not enough to keep the younger campers entertained, there are organized activities and events on-site throughout the year. From crafts, pancake breakfasts, potlucks, and site decorating contests to game nights, basketball, and corn hole tournaments, your kids are guaranteed to have a fantastic time! The campgroundā€™s office is stocked with ice, fire, propane and other basic supplies. If you are visiting in August, be sure to try the local blueberries that are sold on-site. The park staff is incredibly accommodating and friendly -- they can even walk your dog for a donation that goes to the local animal shelter!

Tent sites are $31 or $34 per night depending on the season, while partial hookup campsites are $41 and $47 respectively. For a full-service site, patrons will pay $49 to $55 per night. There are weekly and monthly deals too, as well as seasonal discounts, so make sure to check the Timberland Acres RV ParkĀ website to learn more.Ā
