Description

Tinnemaha Creek Campground is a 55-site campground located by the Tinnemaha Creek in Big Pine, California. The family-friendly campground features all the basics you would expect to have for a good camping trip. Plus, since the campground is situated just a few miles away from the town of Aberdeen, it makes for a good location for casual campers and hikers. Make sure to stock up on snacks and water if you are driving, since water is limited. Aside from the creek, there is a water pump at the camp but unfortunately, it is often not in service.

The first-come-first-served campground accommodates tents and RVs with a maximum length of 50 feet. Each campsite is equipped with a sturdy picnic table, a grill, and a fire ring. Bathrooms are available as well and consist of two vault toilets. There are also several benches and trash receptacles at the campground. Please make sure to use them and never leave food lying around as there is a lot of wildlife in the area.

In addition to being incredibly soothing and relaxing to fall asleep to at night, the Tinnemaha Creek is also filled with trout throughout the summer, which is great for fishing enthusiasts. But it is not just the nature sounds that make this campground a popular location for long weekends. The campground is surrounded by lush greenery and offers views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Even though it is popular, it is rarely crowded, and even during the busiest weekends, the campsites are well-spaced-out to provide a feeling of privacy. Since some of the sites are situated directly by the stream and water attracts mosquitos, it is a good idea to pack bug repellent.

Aside from bonfires, stargazing, and fishing, the campground patrons can enjoy miles of scenic hiking trails, wildlife watching, biking, ATV riding, and climbing. Although the campground is dog-friendly, any canine companions that come along on the camping trip will need to remain leashed and under strict supervision at all times. Please make sure to pack plastic bags and clean up after your pooch during your stay.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
