Tunnel Mills Ii

Camp with your friends on the East North Fork North Fork American River at Tunnel Mills Ii. This campground in the Tahoe National Forest has two group campsites. Each one can house up to 30 people. One site is for tents only, and the other facility allows RVs. There are no hookups here. You'll find tables, campfire rings, vault toilets, and access to the water at the North Fork Campground nearby. Enjoy a range of outdoor activities when you stay here.

Both sites are by the water and in a forested area. Set up your tent or camper under the shade of cedar, fir, and pine trees. This area offers opportunities to bike, hunt, hike, and fish. The North Fork American River is well-known for its trout fishing, so bring your rod. 

Or, if you prefer hiking to fishing, follow one of the trails to find lookout points, waterfalls, and alpine lakes. One pathway that's near here is the Loch Leven Lakes Trail. Travel along the 8.1-mile route past granite rock formations, then climb the undulating road to a ridge before descending into the basin area. Take your time navigating at the higher altitudes. Other activities that you can enjoy around here are mountain biking, boating, swimming, OHV, and whitewater paddling -- you're not going to get bored when you stay here!

The Tahoe National Forest is a furrific place to share with Fido. Dogs can camp and adventure with you here, provided you keep them on-leash and attended at all times. Remember to leave no trace of your exploration. Always scoop your furry pal's poop and carry it out.

Check with the ranger for any seasonal fire restrictions when you stay here. Remember to bring a water purifier if you plan to get your water from the creek.
