Set in the sprawling woodlands of Tahoe National Forest, Upper Little Truckee Campground is a fantastic destination for anyone who wants to camp out in the heart of California. Its scenic setting and location near plenty of outdoor recreation sites make it a favorite campground of all types of campers, and its well-kept facilities and consistency keep them coming back every season. One of the best features of Upper Little Truckee Campground is that it allows dogs, so you can bring your furry friend along for an unforgettable camping trip!

The campground has lots of great features that will make your time there memorable and comfortable. There are 22 sites total, and a few of them overlook the Little Truckee River, which flows next to the campground. In addition to the river, the campground’s setting includes a forest of fir, aspen, and pine trees. You will find many useful amenities at the campground like fire pits, picnic tables, and drinking water. While the campground itself is a great place to hang out with your pooch and pass the time, you might also want to explore some of the great activities that are available in the area. The Little Truckee River is a popular place to fish, and there are also numerous trails in the area that you can visit for a short walk or a long hike.

One thing to keep in mind when you’re planning your trip to the campground is that the nightly fee is $20 for a single site and $66 for a group site. Make sure you take precautions concerning the storage and disposal of food because bears frequent the area. (This is also why Fido should stay leashed at all times!)

You and your pooch will have a furrific time at Upper Little Truckee campground, and you’ll have some great memories to share when you return home!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
