Situated in the charming northern Californian town of Yreka, CA, Waiiaka RV Park has something for everyone. The sites at Waiiaka come with all the mod-cons pups and their people could ask for, including electricity, water, sewage, and even cable TV hookups. There are also coin-operated showers and laundry facilities on-site. Not only that, but the RV park is furrifically Fido-friendly -- there’s even a dog park where your four-pawed pal can run free! The owners are invested in making sure that their guests are looked after, and have been known to greet visitors with popcorn on arrival. Non-furry family members might also appreciate the playground and games room! The sites are surrounded by mature trees and boast fabulous views of the mountains. Unfortunately, there’s no tent camping available. Waiiaka is understandably paw-pular with visitors to the Siskiyou area, so it’s best to book your slot early. Daily rates start at just $38 per night.
You and your buddy are sure to sniff out something fun to do during your stay! Yreka is sandwiched between Mt. Shasta and Mt. Ashland, OR, and there are tons of spectacularly scenic hiking trails in the area. The Yreka to Montague stretch of the Shasta Valley loop runs through some quaint small towns and past striking Alpine landscapes, and doesn’t feature much of an incline. If you’re looking for more of a wilderness experience, look no fur-ther than the forested trails around nearby Ball Mountain. Just be sure to look up a map before you go! Hound-dog history buffs might enjoy a visit to the Gold Rush era Chinese cemetery in Yreka, and if you’d prefer to stay closer to home, Waiiaka shares a lot with a casino. Gamble responsibly!
Free, high-speed wifi is available at Waiiaka, and all cellular networks should receive decent coverage, making this an ideal camping choice for those who need to stay in constant contact (or those who just can’t wait to share those vacation selfies). Remember to bring waste bags for your buddy, and have a pawesome trip!
