Ashland, OR, and there are tons of spectacularly scenic hiking trails in the area. The Yreka to Montague stretch of the Shasta Valley loop runs through some quaint small towns and past striking Alpine landscapes, and doesn’t feature much of an incline. If you’re looking for more of a wilderness experience, look no fur-ther than the forested trails around nearby Ball Mountain. Just be sure to look up a map before you go! Hound-dog history buffs might enjoy a visit to the Gold Rush era Chinese cemetery in Yreka, and if you’d prefer to stay closer to home, Waiiaka shares a lot with a casino. Gamble responsibly!
