William Kent Campground is located in Tahoe City, California, and if the name didn't clue you in, it's located on beautiful Lake Tahoe! This campground has camping designed for everyone. If you want to go the more traditional route, book a spot at one of the tent-camping sites. Want modern amenities? Bring along your RV. If you want to try something different, though, there are yurts available to you and your family! Yurt reservations do cost a bit more at $75 per night. Toilets and drinking water are available as well. Unfortunately, shower stations aren't available, so you might want to bring along a portable shower.Â
There's plenty of fun to be had at this campground. The most pupular activity is swimming at the campground's "beach." If you think swimming is boring, why not try water-skiing? Water-skiing on Lake Tahoe is a favorite activity of many locals. Once it gets dark out, you can light up a campfire to roast a marshmallow or two -- usually. Depending on the weather, fire pits might be banned, so check with the campground before lighting one.
William Kent welcomes your furry family members with open arms! There's a limit of two dogs allowed per campsite, and your pup is unfortunately not allowed to go on the campground's "beach." Please remember to keep your dog leashed at all times, and make sure to clean up after them; no one likes a mess.Â
While bears are pretty common in most California woods, this campground warns that bears are very active in William Kent. Remember to keep all your food safely and properly stored so that you don't attract any unwanted four-legged friends. The only four-legged pals you want to have around are those of the canine variety.
William Kent Campground is a beautiful spot that all campers should add to their list of places to visit. We can practically hear Fido begging to go already!
