Description

Wyandotte Campground is nestled in northern California’s Plumas National Forest — an old-growth, mixed-conifer forest that spans over one million acres in the Sierra Nevada region. The campground is one of California’s best, with high-quality amenities, a beautiful natural setting, and lots of recreational activities in the vicinity. Drawing in countless visitors every year, the campground is an ideal location for your next camping adventure. It's also a dog-friendly campground, so bring your furry friend along with you!

Wyandotte A sits five miles outside of La Porte, and it is composed of twelve campsites that can each accommodate up to six campers. The surrounding trees provide lots of shade, and Little Grass Valley Reservoir is situated next to the campground, creating an enchanting setting that will make your camping experience all the more magical. The campground’s nightly fee is $23 for a single site and $38 for a double site.

You’ll probably want to venture out and explore some of the awesome outdoor activities near the campground, and you’ll have quite a lot to choose from. The adjacent reservoir is a convenient choice; there, you can enjoy boating and fishing. The Pacific Crest Trail and the Lakeshore Trail are also popular locations for hiking. There are also some historic sites in the area like the old gold mining towns. These present a unique opportunity to learn about the rich local history.

There are a few things you should consider when you are planning your camping trip. Take note that there are no RV hookups at the campground. There is a two-vehicle maximum at the campsites, and a second vehicle will incur an extra fee. Dogs must remain on-leash at all times. Most importantly, the campground’s availability may be affected by weather conditions, particularly snow. Camping is only available when no snow is present.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
