The Aaron Bessant Dog Park is a public dog park located adjacent to the Pier Park in Panama City Beach, Florida. In addition to being dog-friendly, the 70-acre park is home to a Veteran’s Memorial, a concert stage, various paved walkways and trails for walking and jogging, and ten acres of grassy, open space that is perfect for family picnics or outdoor concerts.Â
The park features two scenic trails: the Seahorse Lake Trail that looks around a beautiful lake and the Turkey Oak Trail that passes by the soccer fields, both of which are open to leashed dogs. Public restrooms are available too, which is great if you end up spending the day at this great location.Â
Dogs are allowed everywhere in the surrounding park, as long as they are leashed. There are dog waste bag dispensers and lots of conveniently placed trash cans that make cleaning up after your pooch a breeze. Be certain to clean up after your four-legged buddy if you visit the Aaron Bessant Dog Park to help keep it well-maintained and poop-free.Â
In addition to the above, the dog park features drinking fountains for both canines and their owners. The dog park is equipped with benches throughout the park for dog owners to relax on, both in shaded and in sunny areas. The Aaron Bessant Dog Park is a popular destination for canine socialization, meetups and on-leash walks as dogs can accompany owners throughout their visit to the park and meet other furry buddies along the way.Â
It is the perfect place for dogs who love to sniff and explore as there is a variety of trails that run throughout the park, from wooded and shaded to open and grassy. However, remember that dogs are not allowed off-leash in the park so it might not be the best place for canines who prefer to roam free without a leash.Â
