Bayview Dog Beach (on Bayou Texar)

The lovely and expansive 35-acre Bayview Park in Pensacola is a premier pupperdise for Florida residents and pups. With lots of amenities and multiple off leash areas for dogs, this park is the place to be for any family with four-legged members, right along the shores of Bayou Texar.

Head to the southwest corner to find the dog park. This pawtastic area offers separate sections for both small and big dogs to romp, all fully fenced. Once inside the fence, you can take off the leash and let your pup run free with canine neighbors and friends. Inside the dog park, there are water fountains and clean-up bags stations, as well as trash cans. There's also benches for you to relax on while your pup plays, and a shade pavilion. Scattered trees in the park also provide shade throughout.

For the sand and water loving pup, head to the Dog Beach, the only beach in Pensacola just for pups! This 1-acre area is fenced in on all sides but the shoreline. Again, once in the fenced area, you can take off that leash and let your dog explore this puptastic beach. Benches and tables are available for you to relax at, and a shade pavilion and some trees offer much needed shade. It is unclear if water and clean-up bags are provided on the beach, so be sure to bring your own, and always pick up whatever your pup puts down. Do be aware that the water can sometimes be contaminated, so it is recommended that any person or pup with an open wound stay out of the water. There are washing stations on site that include washing tables, shampoos and brushes to help wash away that funky smell from your furry bestie. 

Parking is available between the dog park and the dog beach, so both are within easy walking distance. Do note that while the dog park and beach are open from 6 AM to 9 PM daily, the rest of Bayview Park is open 24 hours a day, and features a lot of pawsome things to do! With picnic areas, grills and pavilions, this is a prime spot for family meals and get togethers. There's walking trails that your pup will love, as well as human restrooms, and a playground for the little two-leggeds in your life. Remember to keep your dog on a leash whenever outside of the designated fenced in dog areas, and be sure your dog is licensed and current on all vaccinations.
