Bayview Dog Beach is a part of the broader Bayview Park, located in Pensacola, Florida. Bayview Park is a well-known recreation area for Pensacola locals, offering great views and activities. The dog beach itself is located to the southeast end of the park and spans the entirety of the Bayview Park shoreline. While relatively small in size, the beach's 1-acre of land is more than adequate for your dog or dogs to explore.
Bayview Dog Beach started its existence being funded solely by the Pensacola Dog Owner's Association but has become massively popular in recent years. Because of this, it's now part of the city's annual budget. Because of the continued popularity of the dog beach, recent renovations have dramatically improved the park's offerings.
The beach has now been lined with picnic tables, complete with leash locks and adjacent grilling areas. Shaded pavilions are available for rental through the Bayview Park website. This year, they've also introduced water bowls that are available for rental at the park's beachside office. There are three different walking trails, two of which lead into and out of the park itself if you're looking to take a longer journey with your canine.
One of the biggest new additions to the Bayview Dog Beach are the public showers. The City of Pensacola really went the extra mile when considering installation, as these showers have dog-specific amenities like washing tables, brushes, and dog specific shampoos. Even the design of the lockers was made to be dog-centric, with ground level "toy & snack lockers" integrated into the main units.
While the dog park is open from 6AM-9PM every day, the main park itself is open to human guests 24 hours a day as sanctioned by the City of Pensacola. Near the north end of the park is a large boat staging and launching area, which sees the most nighttime traffic. Regular security is posted throughout the nighttime hours.
