After a long day of lying around the house, your four legged friend is pawbably ready for some exercise and socialization. So pack ‘em up and head over to Bill Dickson Dog Park! It’s one of Pensacola’s furrific off leash areas. Your pupster will love it!
This fully fenced off leash park is situated inside Bill
Dickson Park which is located on the western arm of the Bayou Grande. Here your
canine companion can let loose and run free! The terrain is a combination of
sand and grass, so your pup will have great traction as they scamper around the
pawperty. If you have a petite pooch, they will be happy to know that there is
a separate section for small doggos. They won’t have to worry about getting
under paw of the larger breeds. Since there are plenty of surrounding trees,
furry park patrons have sufficient shade when the afternoon heats up. If it
gets too hot, cut your visit short and head home. High temperatures can be hard on furry
creatures.
Supervised visits to the dog park are a pawsome way to
sharpen your pup’s social skills. When they are at Bill Dickson Dog Park, your
pup can romp around with new playmates, play chase, or wrestle. It’s always a
good idea to stay nearby so you can keep your eye on your pup. Dogs that want to play alone can sniff around
for new smells or enjoy a game of fetch.
Although the park provides clean-up bags, bring your own
just to be on the safe side. Do your part to keep the park free of doggy debris
by picking up whatever your pooch puts down. There are a couple water
fountains, however, they are not reliable, so be sure to bring some cold drinking water
from home. And while your doggo can run free inside the dog area, you'll need to clip that leash back on anywhere else in Bill Dickson Park.Â
No bones about it, your pup will love hanging out at this
puptacular park!
