Pensacola pups are very furtunate to have the Ashton Brosnaham Dog Park. Tucked in the back of the Ashton Brosnaham Athletic Park, this fenced canine hangout provides a safe environment for the city's four-legged residents to exercise and socialize without the constraints of a leash. If your furry friend needs to get the wiggles out, you can't go wrong with bringing them to this dog park!
Drive past the athletic fields to the end of Ashton Brosnaham Drive, and you and Fido will see the dog park on your right. The facility is divided into two separate areas for large and small doggos, and both sections offer ample room for puppers of all sizes to stretch their legs. You will also find plenty of shade (especially on the big dog side), water hoses, and seating for the dog parents. There are kiddie pools for Fido to cool off in as well, and people often bring balls and toys for the dogs to play with.Â
Visitors say that the folks and canines who come here are very nice and friendly, so you and your pup shouldn't have any trouble making new pals. Still, keep an eye on your charge at all times to ensure that everyone has a pawsitive experience. It's also impawtant to note that the ground around the gates is sand, which could be a cause for concern especially if your pooch is a digger and escape artist. Remember to stoop and scoop if your canine companion makes a mess—doggie waste bags and trash cans are provided for easy cleanups. Bring water and a bowl for your thirsty pup.
If your pooch still has leftover energy after spending some time in the dog park, take them for a leashed walk on the trail behind the soccer field to tire them out before heading home. For a puptastic, leash-free time in Pensacola, head on over to the Ashton Brosnaham Dog Park!
