Allegany State Park

With two lakes, over 100 square miles, and plenty of camping and recreation options to choose from, Allegany State Park has plenty for everyone to enjoy the great outdoors. In southwestern New York, near the Pennsylvania state line, Allegany State Park offers plenty of room to roam, relax, or just soak in nature.

Allegany State Park features numerous outdoor activity options for visitors to engage in. The park has everything from camping and cabin rentals to boat launches, nature trails, a swimming beach, hiking, hunting, ice fishing, snowmobiling, and more. The park also offers a playground for children and horseshoe pits, volleyball, and tennis courts for the athletically inclined. Hikers can wander through miles of trails or delve into naturally formed caves.

The park is open year-round. Cabins, cottage, and the group camping area are available year-round, but the Cain Hollow campsites and Diehl Trail are seasonal. Check the park’s website for the current camping season and dates of availability. Fees for park usage vary depending on the duration of your stay and the facilities you intend to rent. 

Day-use fees per vehicle are $6-7, and camping rates start at $18 per night, with an additional $5 fee for non-New York residents. Check the park’s website for a complete breakdown of fees and to make reservations, or call the park’s office during business hours.

Dogs are permitted in the campground at specific sites only and must be kept on a leash no longer than 10 feet in length at all times. Pets are prohibited in bathing areas and on cross-country skiing trails. Always bring waste bags and plenty of water for yourself and your dog, and always pick up after yourself and your pet. 

Don’t bring aggressive dogs, females in heat, or those who may be a nuisance to other visitors.
