Alley Pond Park

Big Apple dwellers, if you're looking for a pawsome outdoor space for a getaway with your best canine pal, you can't beat a trip to Alley Pond Park. A park well known for being the second largest public recreational space in Queens, Alley Pond Park consists of over 655,294 acres. An area of rich geological significance, the varied terrain includes lots of pawsitively awesome open grass areas, freshwater and saltwater wetlands, meadows, wooded sections, and even sanctuaries for birds. 

You can bring your doggo along with you to enjoy a day of fun in all of the areas at Alley Pond Dog Park! Though pups are to remain leashed between the hours of 9 AM and 9 PM in accordance with New York City by-laws, you can feel free to let your pooch go rogue from 6 AM to 9 AM daily when the park permits a little off-leash adventure. 

Alley Pond Park does have several off-leash zones, though be aware that they are not fenced. If your main canine squeeze tends to be a bit of a flight risk, you'll want to keep them on a leash to prevent an escape from happening. These areas do not contain any amenities, so you'll want to carry a backpack with drinking water and cleanup bags here as well. Your pup may freely enjoy the off-leash areas from 9 AM to 9 PM daily. 

This pawrific park has so many barking great things to do that you and your pooch will be spoiled for choice. The hiking trails are extremely pawpular spots for an afternoon of dog walking. Other favorite attractions include the ball fields and the picnic areas which are complete with barbecues.
