The Anclote Gulf Dog Park is located in the Anclote Gulf Park in the town of Holiday, Pasco County, Florida. There are vehicle parking spaces alongside the dog park. This dog park is a large, open stretch of ground within the main park which has been designated by the Pasco County local authorities as an off-leash area for exercising dogs. It is a popular dog park and first-time users of the facility are recommended to go during off-peak hours.
The dog park is fully enclosed with head high chain link fencing. A separate section has been cordoned off for small dogs. Both areas have secure double gated staging areas. They are surfaced with a combination of natural grass and sandy dirt. There are a couple of mature trees which give a small amount of shade on sunny days.
The off-leash area is exceptionally spacious and owners are required to maintain their dogs in full visual contact as well as having them under good voice control. Agility equipment has been provided for doggy entertainment. There are dog-friendly water fountains installed in the off-leash area, but it is recommended pet owners take a personal drinking bowl for their dog to help prevent the spread of infections.
The Pascal County local authorities require all dogs using the off-leash park to be licensed, vaccinated, and preferably neutered. If not, females in heat are not permitted in the park. Any dog displaying aggressive or anti-social behavior toward other dogs or a person must be leashed and removed from the park. All children entering the dog park must be accompanied by a responsible adult and closely supervised.
There are poop bag dispensers in both sections of the dog park. Pet owners are required to remove any fecal waste produced by their dogs and deposit used bags in the containers provided. The Pasco County authorities also request owners using the facility to participate in the regular Poop Patrols which help maintain the dog park in good condition.
