Anderson Dog Park

For leash-free fun in Tarpon Springs, bring your furry BFF to the Anderson Park Paw Playground! Located within the scenic A.L. Anderson Park, this off-leash dog area offers a safe environment for the city's four-legged residents and visitors to romp unfettered. You can bet that it'll quickly become one of your pup's favorite places in town!

The Anderson Park Paw Playground is divided into two fenced and shaded sections to accommodate doggos of all sizes: one area is reserved for small pooches, while the other is available for larger canines. Though pups are free to run and play sans leash to their heart's content here, dog parents are still asked to keep an eye on their charge. There are benches for owners to sit on while the pups play too!

If Fido is looking to expand their social circle, stop by early in the morning when it's the busiest. Otherwise, it's usually not very crowded, and your pup may even get to have an entire area to themselves. Bring a ball or frisbee to throw so that your dog can get some sprints in! Visitors say that the park can get dusty due to its dirt surface, but not to worry—cooling stations are available for rinsing off dust-covered pooches and refilling water bowls. It is unknown if waste bags are provided, so be sure to bring your own. 

If your dog still has leftover energy after spending some time at the dog park, take them for a leashed stroll on the boardwalks and nature trails that meander through the main park. Don't forget to pawse at the overlooks to enjoy puptastic views of Salmon Bay and Lake Tarpon!
