Has your four-legged pal been a good dog? Then treat them to some leash-free fun at the Apollo Beach Dog Park! You'll find this off-leash facility within the Apollo Beach Park, sandwiched between the golf course and fire station. It's where all the canine members of the community hang out, and will surely become one of your pup's favorite places in Apollo Beach in no time!
The dog park is divided into two enclosures: one for big doggos and another for small pooches. Both sections contain large grassy areas that offer energetic puppers plenty of room to run, play, and socialize. You'll also find agility equipment in the large dog area—see if you can get Fido to navigate the weave poles, run through the tunnels, and clear the jumps! Picnic tables and shelters are available as well, so you and your dog can sit in the shade if they need a break.
Other amenities of the park include mutt mitt dispensers, trash receptacles, and drinking fountains for both people and pups, so don't worry if you forgot to bring your own doggie waste bags or water. Just be sure to pick up after your pooch if they go to the bathroom. And if Fido gets dirty from playing in the park, you can clean them up at the wash stations before heading back to the car.
Note that the park's busiest times are in the early morning and late afternoon from Monday through Friday and all day during weekends. If your pup is new, you might want to visit at non-peak times until they become familiar with the location. Before you head to the park, make sure Fido's vaccinations are up-to-date, and leave the toys and treats at home to avoid fights.
A barking good time awaits you and your pooch at the Apollo Beach Dog Park!
