Baldwin Park Dog Park

The Baldwin Park Dog Park resides inside Baldwin Park's over 23 acres, and almost all of it is accessible to dogs off leash at its spacious lakeside location. Dogs must be leashed in the parking lot and on a 2.5-mile paved walkway around the lake, but they are free to roam and romp everywhere else in the fenced park. 

This is a water-loving pup's paradise with its sand/dirt beach that is especially for them! A huge old oak tree divides the beach into 2 parts, and the doggos seem to know that one side is for the active, fetching, swimming pups, while the other is where the calmer, more sedate pooches hang out. Away from the beach, the surface is grass, and many mature trees offer shade for dogs and dog parents alike. Benches, picnic tables and pavilions and a duo canine-human water fountain keep everyone comfortable, and some even bring packed lunches to enjoy while the pumps cavort. Restrooms near the parking area keep humans comfortable, and waste bags are distributed throughout the park. Please be sure to pick up a bag or two when you see a dispenser so you're ready for the inevitable.

This off-leash park also features trails in the woodsy area nearby, and a small dog area is available if your fur-baby is tiny or timid. While dogs will come off the beach with muddy coats, you can shampoo them at the handy dog washing stations for the ride home. Double safety gates prevent the escape artists among them from eloping on the way in or out. 

One caution: if you visit the park, you'll notice Beware of Alligator signs - this is Florida, after all. This being said, no attacks have ever been reported here, and the locals are pretty mellow about it. Maybe the puppers make so much commotion in the lake that they scare the reptiles away!

This furtastic dog-friendly park is a destination for many dog-lovers and their babies in the Winter Park area and beyond, for good reason! Folks travel for an hour or more to get here, so try it out and see what the excitement is all about! Woofderful!
