Barkham Dog Park (at Markham Park)

The Barkham Dog Park is a membership-only dog park located in the Markham Park in Sunrise, Florida. The annual fee to access the dog park is $25 per household but if you are not sure if it is worth the investment feel free to check out the park by purchasing a $5 daily pass. 

According to its regular patrons, the park is worth the investment considering its size, cleanliness and offered amenities. In addition to the dog park, the beautiful Markham Park is home to tennis and basketball courts, an observatory, disc golf courses, fishing and much more. It is truly a great spot to spend a sunny day with the entire family.

The securely-fenced, three-acre dog park is very well thought out and features everything you would want in a dog park. There are two separate enclosures, including an area that is meant for small dogs under 25 pounds and another leash-free area for the bigger breeds. The dog park is groomed and very well-maintained. The surface consists of Bermuda sod that is said to provide an even, grassy foundation for pooches to enjoy running and playing on. 

There are several trees in the off-leash area and countless others surrounding the fenced dog area which creates a beautiful environment all around. Furthermore, there are several agility obstacles dogs can be challenged on with their canine buddies and a washing station that they can cool off by afterward.

The dog park is equipped with both human and canine water fountains so owners don’t need to worry about keeping their pups hydrated. There are also pet structures that dogs can play on and several seating areas for owners within the off-leash areas. 

There are also three cozy pavilions in the dog park that owners are welcome to take advantage of and relax in while they watch their dogs explore and play. In addition to the above, there are wide asphalt paths that run throughout the park that you can take your pooch on in case the dog park doesn't tire him out enough!
