Highly regarded by many pup parents, this pawpular pooch playground offers 14 pawtastic acres for the city's canine residents and tourists to sprint, sniff, and socialize without a leash. Best of all, it doesn't cost a dime to use this park!

Barkley Square comprises three separate areas: small and large pups each get their own space, while a third section is allotted for training sessions and breaks. All areas are surrounded by durable vinyl-coated fencing to keep even jumpers and diggers in. Needless to say, there's more than enough room for every woofer, including those who require crazy amounts of exercise, to run around and get the wiggles out regardless of which area they're in. For water-loving canines, a small, lined pond awaits in the large dog section, which petite pooches may enter at their own risk.

The park also includes a walking trail, doggie watering stations, mutt mitt dispensers, trash cans, and lots of trees. For the dog parents, there are modern restrooms, benches, and picnic tables. And despite the park's pawpularity, parking shouldn't be a problem as there are several spaces available. Visitors say that Barkley Square is enjoyable for humans as well thanks to its beauty and tranquility, and many take advantage of the large area to get some exercise in themselves.

If your pooch gets dirty from playing at the dog park, which they most likely will, a coin-operated dog wash is available on-site. This self-serve shower costs $10 to use; be sure to bring cash so you can give Fido a bath before heading home—if you can get them to leave, that is!
