One of the two enclosures has been designed with the needs of small, elderly, and shy dogs in mind and is reserved for their use. Also situated on the property are areas suitable for training as well as fully fenced "time out" zones for dogs who become too overstimulated during their playtime at the park.
Since safety is of paramount importance at Barkley Square Dog Park, it is mandatory for all owners to keep a leash with them at all times. Barkley Square Dog Park is a public dog facility. Park officials proudly offer access to their play areas at no cost. Donations are gratefully accepted and are earmarked towards future park improvements as well as current maintenance needs.
The enclosures are equipped with water and agility equipment which includes a tunnel. Also available on the property are poop bags. Owners are required to assume all responsibility for properly cleaning up after their pets. Dogs who love to swim will be delighted to take a dip in the on-site pond.
If Fido comes out of the water smelling far less than a rose, there are also coin-operated dog bath stations available at a cost of $10. Seating is situated throughout the property in well-shaded areas. Here, owners can recline under the cover of trees and enjoy watching their dogs having fun with their best canine pals. Bathrooms are also housed on the grounds for public use.
Barkley Square Dog Park is one of three area dog playgrounds which are owned and operated by Florida's Volusia County. There are no official posted rules regarding the use of the play areas; however, vaccinations are always a good idea as is a city dog license. Looking for a dog park that earns top marks from other dog owners? Bring Fido for a visit to Barkley Square Dog Park!
