Is your pup getting antsy from staying indoors all day? Then bring them to the Dog Park at Bideawee to let them run off all that pent-up energy! Managed by one of the country's oldest no-kill animal rescues, this pooch playground offers a safe environment for eastern Long Island's canine community to sprint, sniff, and socialize without the constraints of a leash.
You and Fido will find the dog park in front of the adoption center on Bideawee's 150-acre Westhampton location. Spanning just under an acre, this members-only, off-leash facility comprises two separate areas for large and small doggos, allowing your pooch to mingle with other canines their own size. Both sections are completely fenced and double gated for security, but dog parents are still expected to watch their pups closely. Make sure your furry charge observes proper petiquette and plays nicely so that everyone can have a pawsitive experience.
Park amenities include benches, water, mutt mitts, and trash cans. Some pieces of agility equipment are also available; try to test your pup's skills and see if they can complete the course! A few trees provide shady spots to cool off in on warm days.
To become a member of the Dog Park at Bideawee, you must submit an application form along with your doggo's updated medical health report and an optional photo. Annual fees are $40 for the first two dogs and $25 for each additional dog. Two-year memberships, lifetime memberships, and seasonal passes are available as well. You will receive a paw pass and tag once your application has been processed, which shouldn't take more than two weeks. Note that annual memberships expire on December 31st.
