Big Creek Park is a natural oasis in the south end of Alpharetta. It's the pawfect place to take your trail dog for an outing in any season. The park is mostly well known for it's network of trails, and access to Big Creek River. After some time spent in the wilderness here, you'll forget you're anywhere near the city. Your doggo is sure to pay you back with plenty of snuggles and kisses.
Once you arrive, you'll find ample parking and clean restrooms. If you decide to walk here with your doggo, try taking the scenic route along the Big Creek Greenway. The Big Creek Greenway can be started north of the park on Marconi Drive, and continues about 8 miles south until it enters the park. If you'd like to continue the adventure, you can take Big Creek Greenway a couple more miles down from the park to Mansell Road.
Although the park doesn't have any playgrounds or sports fields, the network of trails within the park are great for many types of activity. The paved trails are ideal to add to your route on your morning jog with Fifi, or cruising along on your rollerblades. There are some natural surface trails that take your deeper into the woods, and very popular mountain bike trails. The trails offer everything from easy cross country to technical sections, and hills. Make sure you remain aware of your surroundings at all times so as to avoid a collision.
Doggos are more than welcome in the park, and you're likely to encounter some more dog enthusiasts and their pals. Please be sure that your pup stays leashed at all times. Don't forget to bring along water and some waste bags, and follow Leave No Trace principles.
An adventure in Big Creek Park with their favorite person is something your fur baby won't soon forget!
