Brookdale Dog Park

The Brookdale Dog Park is much larger than your typical city dog park. This space is quite gorgeous, and even without your canine, it is a spot to visit. Outside of the park is a lot of grass and vegetation. A walking trail winds through the park with benches spattered on either side. The dog park itself is not small and there is a tall fence that surrounds it.

This fence also divides the field into two sections of different sizes. One section for large canines and another for their smaller counterparts. The turf here is some combination of gravel and dirt. If your canine likes to roll around or kicks up a storm, you are probably going to leave quite the mess. These issues compound after heavy rain as the ground turns from dirt to mud.

There are trees that line the Brookdale Dog Park and a few tall trees inside the sizeable fenced section. These trees have large canopies that produce sufficient amount of shade for the patrons of the park. You can found good shade here all hours of the day during the spring and summer months.

There is plenty of space at the Brookdale Dog Park for long-range games like fetch or frisbee. You can let loose at this dog park as at least the large dog section is quite massive. Agility equipment can also be found at this dog park, and it makes for a great place to take a high energy canine as they can wear themselves out here.

The larger park that surrounds this dog park is quite active with bikers, joggers, and walkers. The city also hosts several events at this park during the summer, everything from fireworks to music festivals. The dog park is right next to the parking lot, however, take care of bringing your canine if they are easily spooked, and something is planned for the day.
