Thresher Fields Dog Park

Thresher Fields Dog Park is a large, off-leash dog area located within the Thresher Fields Park in Eagan, Minnesota. The 6.4-acre dog park is very popular and highly-rated by the community due to its substantial size and great amenities. 

However, bi-annual colored tags are needed to access the park. These off-leash dog permits cost $20 per dog and cover the operational costs of the park. They can be purchased online or in the Eagan Community Center and all you need is your dog’s license number if you are a resident or a copy of your dog’s current rabies vaccinations if you live outside of Eagan. According to the regular patrols of the park, the fees are well worth the investment.

The dog park is open all year round and has everything from nature trails, rolling hills, and slopes to open spaces and an ungroomed area for dogs to explore and sniff around in and even access to the lakeshore. The shoreline area at North Lake is gated, allowing you to choose whether you’d like to let your pooch access the water to splash around and cool off in or not. 

In addition to separate, fenced-in enclosures for small dogs and big dogs, the dog park is equipped with picnic tables, water bowls, waste containers, and dog waste bag dispensers. Restrooms and water fountains are available on a seasonal basis. This spacious park has varied terrain, from wooded areas and somewhat steep hills to open, grassy fields which are perfect for throwing a ball. 

Owners may need to hike to keep up with their four-legged friends in order to keep them in sight at all times. It is a great place for dogs to burn off energy and make canine friends.
