Buist Park

The city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has never been a more perfect place to get outdoors a bit with your furry friend. If you have only a very short amount of time to do so, then head over to Buist Park where you will find just what you and your puptastic pup need.

Located in a residential Southwest Philadelphia neighborhood, there is ample parking if you need to arrive by car or it is easily found on foot as well. Just grab Fido’s leash and take off!

Buist Park was once part of the community’s nursery where specialty roses were grown and sold. Remnants of this nursery are found just across the street where the original 1920’s nursery trees were planted. This makes for a scenic park area where your pawtastic pup will love the large open lawn feature where they can take some time to just be a pup! Take a stroll along the sidewalks which encircle the park or go ‘off road’ and let your pup enjoy some grass under their paws! Either way, they will be happy just to be with their human friend.  

It is important to keep your pup on leash throughout their entire visit as it is a city requirement and be aware there is no fencing surrounding this park. This open-concept area does not offer restrooms nor drinking fountains, so pack some bottled water for your visit on a hot summer day. Otherwise, all you will need is some mutt mitts to keep this park pup-friendly and enjoyable for all.
