A small fenced-in section of the park close to Queen Street provides the setting for local pups to ditch the leash and let loose! A woodchip covering makes romping in here easy on the paws, and a double-gated entry ensures everyone stays safe. This one space fits all allows dogs to mix and mingle, but since there isn't a separate area for shy, little or senior dogs, they may want to come during less busy times. The dog park is rather small, and can get packed on weekdays between 4 P.M. and 7 P.M., so a weekend or morning trip may be in order.Â
Relax on one of the benches or at the picnic table while your dog has a blast with canine pals. Whether on wet, muddy days or dusty, dry ones, your dog can get a quick wash off with an on site hose. Bring a bowl for your thirsty pup to get rehydrated! It's unclear if clean-up bags are available, so it's best to bring your own and always stoop and scoop.Â
This furbulous slice of doggie heaven in the middle of the city is funded and maintained by volunteers, and though it is free to all, users are encouraged to become members. Every third Sunday of the month is clean-up day to help keep the dog park pawsome! Like at any dog park, be sure your dog is fully vaccinated and wearing appropriate tags before visiting. And keep the leash on when entering or exiting the fenced-in area, and anywhere outside of it.
