Since the park operates on a small budget provided by generous donors, donations are gratefully accepted with all monies earmarked for park maintenance and improvements. A household pass which permits park access for one dog is available for $50 per year. Students, seniors, and dog walkers receive the discounted price of $25 annually, and each additional dog is $5.
Though none of these passes are required, they do help sustain this important project. Those who wish to purchase a pass also receive discounts at a variety of pet-related stores and services in the area. Dogs entering the park space must have up to date vaccinations as well as current city license. Additionally, the park does not permit unneutered males on the premises.
This dog playground is fully fenced though it is not known if there is an area solely for use by dogs who are smaller in size or more reserved in nature. Off-leash play is welcome and encouraged, but to ensure the safety of all dogs, owners should keep a lead handy. Benches are also situated throughout this 10,000 square foot shaded play area, and water is provided within the enclosure for thirsty dogs to enjoy.
Just in case you forgot to grab some bags before leaving the house, poop bags are also available on-site. Not permitted on the premises are toys with the notable exception being tennis balls. Additionally, the management requests that all owners refrain from bringing alcohol, cigarettes, or food of any sort onto the grounds.
Dogs visiting the park must wear an appropriate collar, but it is important to note that choke, prong, heavy chain link, and spike collars are strictly prohibited. For a great day at a much-beloved Philadelphia dog park, bring Fido for a visit to Seger Dog Park!
