If your pup is getting antsy from staying indoors all day, then a trip to the dog park is in order! Furtunately, Smyrna's four-legged residents have the Burger Dog Park. This pawsome site is the city's first off-leash canine hangout, giving furry citizens a safe environment where they can sniff, sprint, and socialize to their heart's content.
The dog park is split into two separate areas for large and small doggos, allowing puppers of similar sizes to play together. Only pooches less than 30 pounds may use the small dog area, so the little ones can romp with no worries on one side while the big guys ruffhouse on the other. Both sections are completely fenced and offer plenty of room to run off all that pent-up doggie energy. No matter which side your pup uses, always keep an eye on them and remind them to mind their manners if needed to ensure a pawsitive experience for all.
The Burger Dog Park is a no-frills facility, so you won't find any agility obstacles or swimming ponds here. But there are drinking fountains for both humans and canines, as well as benches for the dog parents. Pet waste stations are also available, making it easy to clean up after your furry charge. Bring wet wipes or a towel if your pooch uses the large dog area, though, as it tends to get muddy after a downpour.
Even though the dog park is quiet and secluded at times, it can get busy during the weekends. If you're having trouble finding a parking spot, try parking at the adjacent Bellmont Hills Elementary School. Make sure your pooch is licensed and vaccinated before you bring them to the dog park.
A puptastic time awaits Fido at the Burger Dog Park!
