Camden State Park

Explore 30 miles of hiking trails with your dog at Camden State Park. Adventurous dogs will enjoy navigating through the woods and the pathways at this beautiful state park. Your dog might be trained to perfection and answer verbal demands quickly, but park rules say dogs need to remain on a leash at all times. 

Vaccination and license tags are required for your dog when visiting the park. Pet owners are liable for their dog's behavior towards others when visiting the park. Owners are encouraged to keep dogs away from other visitors unless welcomed by the other party. This park is filled with plenty of things to keep the entire family entertained. 

Popular options include camping, boating, in-line skating, biking, fishing, geocaching, hiking, hunting, nature viewing, off-highway vehicle riding, shooting sports, skiing snowmobiling, snowshoeing and swimming. You will also see natural wildlife, prairies, plants, trees and spectacular views from the hiking trails. 

Hiking with your dog is excellent at Camden State Park. Remember to bring along supplies such as fresh water and a small bowl for your dog to drink and stay hydrated. You also need to pick up after your dog so make sure you bring along plenty of plastic doggie poop bags. 

Also be prepared to hold onto the bag for a while until you reach a trash can. Dogs are not allowed in the horseback riding area for security purposes. Park rules frequently change so remember to check with Camden State Park office for more details regarding areas that are off-limits to dogs. 

Overall, this is a beautiful park to explore and make memories with your dog. Hiking is a great experience, and there’s plenty of trails to navigate. You will need to visit Camden State Park several times to cover all 30 miles of hiking trails since you don’t want to exhaust or dehydrate your dog.
