Canine Commons (at Beaver Dam Park)

The Canine Commons Dog Park (or Bedford Dog Park) is a membership only dog park located at the Beaver Dam Park in Bedford, New York. The town dog park is popular and highly rated by the community of dog owners living in the neighborhood due to its accessible location and featured amenities. 

This lovely dog park has a well-thought-out layout and provides plenty of space for dogs to run, play, exercise, and socialize off-leash. There are separate areas for dogs to enjoy which include a small dog section for breeds under 30 pounds, a big dog run for those over 30 pounds, and an area with agility equipment for dogs who like a challenge. 

All of the areas are securely fenced and provide a decent amount of shade for dogs to cool off in. There is also a canopy area in the small dog section for owners to relax in as they supervise their dogs. The dog park is equipped with free dog waste bag dispensers and conveniently placed trash cans; you must make sure to do your part and clean up after your pooch if you visit this beautiful park. 

Do not forget to bring some water for your canine companion too as the dog park does not feature any water fountains. Although there are some seating options, there are not that many benches in the dog park so please keep that in mind and consider bringing a foldable chair if you plan to spend more than an hour at the dog run. 

On the plus side, the dog park has its own parking lot with a porta potty which is very convenient if you do end up spending an entire day at the park. The annual membership fees for residents are $45 for the first dog, $25 for the second and $20 for the third. Non-residents have to pay $125 per dog to access the dog park or visit on a daily pass that costs $10 per day.
