Canine Cove (at South County Regional Park)

Canine Cove is a public, off-leash dog park located in the South County Regional Park in Boca Raton, Florida. In addition to the dog park, the 848-acre park is home to several playgrounds, baseball fields, basketball and tennis courts, a community center, an amphitheater, a waterpark, and much more. It is truly a great location for the entire family as there are countless activities and facilities to choose from. The variety, as well as its cleanliness, is one of the many reasons this park is so popular with the locals. The Canine Cove Dog Park can be found on the south side of the amphitheater, right by the playgrounds in front of the cross country course.

The securely fenced dog park consists of approximately 3 acres of well-maintained, grassy areas and has several off-leash sections. There are two large sections for big dog breeds (over 50 lbs), which are open one at a time for weekly maintenance that takes place on Wednesdays from 12:00 PM till 3:00 PM. There is a medium dog section for canines 25-50 lbs and a spacious enclosure for small dogs under 25 lbs. All areas include gazebos, shaded benches, free dog waste bag dispensers, and drinking fountains for owners and their pets.

In addition to the above, this wonderful dog park overlooks a small lake and it is equipped with a dog washing station, which is very convenient considering the park’s surface mainly consists of grass and concrete-paved walkways. It is also close to a spacious parking lot and public restrooms that can be found next to the picnic area.

This free, family-friendly park is definitely worth a visit, especially if you live in the Boca, Coral Springs, or Parkland area. Bring your canine companion for a leashed walk on the scenic walking paths that run 4.8 miles throughout the park and then head to the Canine Cove dog park for some off-leash fun, exercise, and socialization!
