If your pup is itching to spend time in the great outdoors, plan a trip to Carley State Park. Here your furry friend can escape all their canine cares and bask in some of Minnesota’s beautiful nature. Plus, they can enjoy some woofderful hiking. Sounds puptastic!
Carley State Park is a pawsome place to spend a night or
two under the stars. There are 20 campsites nestled in a lovely wooded area. RVs are also
welcome. Primitive restrooms are located throughout the park, but there are no
showers. If you are just staying for the day, make sure you pack a sandwich so
you can take advantage of the puptacular picnic area. There’s even a large
open field and a playground available.
When your pup arrives, they’ll pawbably want to hit the
trails, so it’s a good thing Carley State Park has six miles of hiking trails.
The dirt paths loop throughout the pawperty and run through a variety of
terrain. Your doggo will trek from valley floors up to rocky ridges. A couple
of the trails are fairly steep and have stairs. There are also some places where you’ll
have to cross North Branch Whitewater River. But don’t worry, there are
concrete blocks to help you across. If your pup needs something flat, opt for
the Wildflower Trail.
This gorgeous park is chock full of white pines, so your
dog can enjoy the fresh forest scent during their visit. If you happen to come
during the spring, your pal will be treated to a pawsome display of
wildflowers. As you’re out and about in the park watch for wildlife. Deer,
beaver, coyotes, and fox all call this place home. Also, remember to always have
a clean up bag on hand and ready to go, and enough water to share with your adventure hound!
No bones about it, your canine companion will
go mutts over this park!
