Description

Cedar Lane Dog Park is a membership-only dog park located in Ossining, New York. The annual membership fee is $20 and is well worth it according to the park's regular patrons. The two-acre Cedar Lane Dog Park is securely fenced and provides a safe, secluded environment for dogs to play, exercise and socialize in without a leash.

The park is located within a larger, rustic park on top of a hill. It is surrounded by tall mature trees, and lush greenery which means finding a shaded spot to relax or cool off in is never a problem. The dog park’s layout consists of two separate areas for dogs to roam around in.

The smaller section is meant for small dog breeds while the main dog run accommodates large breeds and those that can keep up with the massive hounds. The park's surface consists of mulch and some woodchip-covered areas so that playtime is less muddy. However, as with most dog parks, it is always safer to bring a towel for your pooches paws, just in case.

The park's terrain is slightly sloped and includes some obstacles that dogs can exercise on. This makes it a great location for active dogs or those who enjoy chasing after balls down the hill. The surrounding area is serene and forested which makes it a very pleasant location to spend a day in.

In addition to the beautiful landscaping and location, the Cedar Lane dog park is equipped with everything you would need in a dog park. There are free waste bag dispensers and conveniently located trash cans. The park also features water fountains to keep canines hydrated throughout their visit.

You will find a generous amount of benches to outdoor lawn furniture for owners, sit back and relax as you watch your canine best friend explore and play with other four-legged furballs. To top it off, there is a dedicated parking lot which makes accessing the park even easier; it features a porta potty.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.

The 60+ dogs I currently have listed in my notebook plus at least a dozen more wish to thank the Town of Ossining for "cleaning up" the Ossining Dog Park. We love not having to worry about our cars on the way up the hill - the new paving is fantastic! The weed clean-up makes the park seem almost twice as big. Now with all the extra wood chips we are not covered in mud or dust, having to immediately take a bath after each visit. A couple of white plastic chairs were broken and removed and replaced by more solid iron wrought chairs by a patron. We also appreciate the short hose on the spigot and whoever dealt with the holes or kinks so it is no longer dripping/wasting water. Maybe, a new one in Spring? We also have been getting regular bunches of used tennis balls from one of the patrons who is a State Tennis Champ! Some of the dogs enjoyed jumping in and out of the pink plastic pool during those heatwave days of summer that someone left. We appreciate the prompt removal of the used poop baggies and promise to clean up after our dogs. The water bottles and water dishes are appreciated. The removal of one of the dead trees was noticed. We would appreciate if the broken chairs would be removed and getting some new chairs. Hopefully the shed will be cleared out and made usable for the upcoming inclement weather. Is there electric for a heater perhaps? A light for the early darkness in winter? A wheel barrel would be helpful for moving chips to heavily used areas and filling in holes. Any agility stuff for the dogs to play on would be great- ramp. Since Halloween is on a Sunday, we are expecting many dogs in costume in the afternoon with owners bringing doggie treats and cameras to celebrate Howl-A-Ween. Thanks to the Parks and Recreation staff for all of your attention to our wonderful park.
Thanks for your vote!
