Description
Champion Mill State Historic Park finds its home in Champion, Nebraska. Home to Nebraska's last functioning water-powered mill, this recreational area and camping facility allows visitors to step back into America's history and experience some of the facets of life that early settlers once knew.

There is an on-premise shallow pond suitable for splashing around and fishing. Dogs may join their owners in the outdoor portions of this historic park, but they must remain on a leash. Dogs are strictly forbidden from entering the pond waters or any public buildings.

There is no on-site play area designated for dog use, and drinking water is not provided. To ensure Fido remains well-hydrated, owners should bring bottled water with them to the park. All pet waste removal is the responsibility of each owner. To assist with this task, owners should carry an ample supply of poop bags with them at all times.

Champion Mill State Historic Park is a public recreational area and campground. Entrance to the property is provided at no cost. There are very few outdoor activities available at this state park. The area is quite pretty, and the on-premise pond offers a place for a quick dip.

The grounds themselves comprise over 11 acres of land. Though hiking trails are not mentioned, there is certainly sufficient property for a leisurely stroll for Fido and his family to enjoy. Picnic tables are housed on the grounds. Here, families can enjoy a light lunch or snack together.

There are six campsites with power available for a cost of $12 per night and by reservation only. Tent camping on the grounds is free of charge. It is unknown if there are bathrooms available for public use. Champion Mill State Historic Park observes seasonal hours and is only open from Memorial Day until Labor Day weekend.

All canine visitors to Champion Mill State Historic Park must be in compliance with Nebraska law. With this in mind, up to date immunizations and a city dog license is required. For a great time at a lovely historic site, plan a visit to Champion Mill State Historic Park!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
