Chesnut Dog Park boasts of two fully fenced enclosures suitable for off-leash play. One of the two play areas is reserved for use by small dogs only. Though the enclosures are dedicated off-leash zones, it is required that all dogs remain on their leash when traveling to and from the play spaces. It is also mandatory for all owners to carry a lead with them at all times in case of an emergency. Entrance to this public park is free of charge. Bathrooms that contain showers are available on-site as is a plentiful, potable water supply. Fountains, which are dog appropriate in height, are scattered throughout the enclosures.
For families seeking an outdoor adventure, nearby Chesnut Park offers water access as well as a ramp for boating activities. In addition to this, there are two on-site playgrounds, horseshoe pits, and a softball diamond. Looking to enjoy a leisurely lunch on the grounds? Why not check out one of Chesnut Park's 13 pavilions suitable for picnicking? Also provided are barbecues for families to use to prepare a memorable meal.
Park officials do prohibit both food and smoking in the dog run areas. It is not known if poop bags are provided on-site. However, it is required that all owners carry bags to pick up and properly dispose of any canine waste promptly. Though no specific regulations are posted regarding the use of the park space, it is highly recommended that all dogs be current on vaccinations. In addition to this, it is advisable for all dogs to bear the appropriate required state license tag on their collars. For a fun day with Fido and the whole family, plan a trip to Chesnut Dog Park!
